ImageThe environment of the Falkland Islands is a timeless blend of the spectacular, engraved by the ever-present elements of ocean, wind, sun and rain. These un-commissioned master craftsmen remain anonymous; yet for centuries have shaped this landscape into a layered world of everlasting inspiration.

Everywhere in the Falkland Islands, the environment beckons you, almost summoning you through silent commands to explore and experience what lies before you. It is vast with endless horizons.

The Falkland Islands' archipelago consists of the two main islands, East and West Falkland, with some seven hundred islands around their shores making this a traveller's paradise. These islands are surrounded by a vast ocean of blended colours of aqua green and silver blue, with the kelp dancing to the silent tunes of the ocean's currents, their rhythm dictated by the wind and the constant beat of the waves crashing onto the Falkland Islands shores.

This is a pure, unpolluted environment, a pristine example of a natural paradise. It is almost a pilgrimage to come to the Falkland Islands, such is its appeal and challenge, yet all who travel here become immersed in the natural beauty of the landscape and absorbed with the nature and wildlife, so much so that one journey is never enough.

There are miles and miles of empty spaces within the Falkland Islands, so you will never feel crowded. The environment is a mixture of soft and hard textures, a moulded landscape of weathered stone, sand and peat, blended in nature's kiln to an ancient recipe. This is a land without trees, where the wind roams freely and where shafts of light spread from the heavens in golden rays as if highlighting special features amidst the environment. Any shrubs you find are nestled in sheltered nooks as if resting from the prevailing wind.

The coastline is typical of one savagely pounded by the wrath of winter storms and the awesome power of the waves. In places where soft rock has submitted to the mercy of the sea, dramatic stacks, sea caves and natural arches have formed, as if to replicate the ancient kingdoms of mythological gods and pay homage to their power and sovereignty beneath the waters of the Falkland Islands. While in more secluded areas sand beaches illuminate the edge of the coastline in a brilliant white as if to light up the waters with nature's luminosity to let us marvel at the ocean below.

The Falkland Islands environment is something out of the ordinary, a place where travellers can still experience the real world of nature, seclusion and elite. It is the last talisman of freedom and a place where man can unwind and escape from the rigours of the modern world. It is, the natural choice.
