The Falkland Islands have an excellent system of internal roads linking key settlments and points of interest. However it should be noted that the majority of driving outside of the capital of Stanley takes place on unsealed roads (gravel). To make travel by road safe and comfortable, most locals opt to use a 4WD vehicle such as a Land Rover or Mitsubishi Pajero.
