Collecting stamps is a rewarding way of learning about distant places. The history, wildlife and way of life can be found in the stamps of the Falkland Islands.

Although the Philatelic Bureau was only established in 1978, the Falkland Islands has been issuing stamps since 1878, prior to which letters were simply franked to indicate that postage had been paid.
