Kidney Cove Safari Tours offer full and half day tours from Stanley.  We guarantee you will see rockhopper, gentoo, king and magellanic penguins, and possibly even the much rarer macaroni penguin all amid spectacular scenery. 

Land-based tourists
If you are arriving in the Falklands by air, please book your tour directly with Kidney Cove Safari Tours.  Adrian and Lisa apologise in advance, but they are unable to provide private tours on cruise ship days. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Cruise ship passengers
If you are visiting the Falklands on a cruise ship, please book your Kidney Cove Safari Tour through your on-board shore excursion manager.  Be sure to ask about the Sparrow Cove Penguin Adventure - this tour experience is exclusive to cruise ship passengers.

What if I don't have much time in Stanley?
Even with just half a day in Stanley, Kidney Cove Safari tours can tailor a package for you, featuring up to four different penguin types amid spectacular surroundings. Ask Lisa or Adrian what they can do for you.

Your experience
Your guide for the day will collect you from anywhere in Stanley or Mount Pleasant by 4WD Landrover.  The overland trip is mind-blowing, so don't be afraid to ask your driver to stop so you can capture it all on camera.  Your journey will take you to four colonies of penguins where you will see rockhopper, gentoo, king and the only burrowing penguin here, the magellanic. The lucky among you may also catch a glimpse of a macaroni penguin nesting in amongst the rockhoppers.

Further along the coast you will encounter the large gentoo colony, and among them is the small but growing band of king penguins. Following this your driver will take you to see the magellanic penguins, which nest in borrows underground.

After your journey around the penguin colonies your driver will drop at your chosen destination.  Kidney Cove Safari Tours don't impose time limitations at any of our sites - so you can decide how long you want to spend at each colony and what time you go home. NOTE: We ask that you bring a packed lunch, drink, warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear.
