Islander Profile - Roger Spink

Roger first came to the Falklands in 1986 from the UK to take up a post with the Falkland Islands Company Ltd (FIC). In 2001 he was appointed the General Manager and Director of FIC the main retailers in the Islands and operators of Penguin Travel. He is President of the Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Tourist Board and a Trustee of Falklands Conservation.

The unrivalled wildlife experience in the Falklands first attracted him to come and live in the Islands; he has travelled to many remote locations in the Falkland Islands and on South Georgia. His great interest in wildlife has led him to many parts of the world, including the Okavango, Serengeti, Selous in Africa and Grizzly Bears at Knight Inlet in Canada, but the Falklands remain special to him. He has a particular interest in waterfowl both domestic and wild.
